According to sources who spoke to ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington, Tom Brady could actually end up playing for somebody other than the Patriots in the 2020 season. While you're right to be skeptical, just think about Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, and whoever else you can come up with since you don't have a deadline.

Everything eventually comes to an end.

Darlington says that Brady is entering free agency "under the belief" that he'll be playing for a new team during the upcoming season. It's not set in stone, but ESPN, citing unnamed sources, says "Brady is evaluating the NFL landscape with the intention of departing."

Brady can't negotiate with other teams until March 16. There's also going to be a meeting between Brady and Bill Belichick that's yet to be officially set.

This past season, the 42-year-old threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions . The Patriots won the AFC East for the 11th straight year, but badly screwed themselves with a Week 17 loss to a bad Dolphins team that cost them a bye. After that, in the postseason, they were upset at home by the Tennessee Titans.
