Has Joel Embiid turned heel in Philadelphia?

On Monday, Embiid posted a photo of himself on Instagram quieting the Wells Fargo Center crowd with the quote, "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain," from Harvey Dent in the 2008 film The Dark Knight. 76ers responded one day later by booing him during player introductions prior to tonight's game against the Clippers.

Embiid may have fueled the bad blood with 76ers fans when he appeared to troll/entertain a pitch from his former Sixers teammate Jimmy Butler to join the Miami Heat

Couple that public interaction with a video which clearly shows him telling the crowd to shut up, and you can see why he isn't in the good graces of Sixers fans. Embiid's new villain persona has been effective in helping him rebound from an extended slump.

Later in the evening, after the 76ers defeated the Clippers, Embiid took to Twitter to share a photo that was captioned, "BROTHERLY LOVE #MyCity."
