The Chiefs' Tyreek Hill

The Chiefs/Jaguars game was marred by a major injury for both teams. For Kansas City, they lost electrifying playmaker Tyreek Hill. For Jacksonville...well, we'll talk about that at the bottom.

Late in the first half of KC's 40-26 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Patrick Mahomes completed a first down pass to Hill before being tackled by Jalen Ramsey. Although he managed to get to his feet, it was apparent Hill was in pain. As a result, he was carted off the field for further evaluations.

At first, Hill's return was listed as questionable. It was then revealed that he would not return to the field.

According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Hill suffered an injured collarbone. Florio was told by league sources that the Chiefs will not know the extent of Hill's injury until the wide receiver undergoes additional tests. If it's fractured, Hill is looking at missing multiple weeks if not the whole season depending on how bad the break is, and the Chiefs' playoff run.

Prior to his exit, Mahomes and coach Andy Reid were working on getting Hill open despite the Jaguars' double coverage. The wide receiver pulled in two catches for 16 yards and carried the ball once for five yards before his injury.

Shortly after the game wrapped up, KC's head athletic trainer provided an update about Hill, though he didn't give a specific timeframe for his return to the field. He also said that another update would be forthcoming in the next few days.

If there's any silver lining for Chiefs fans (oh, and Hill) it's that surgery will notbe required. Regardless he's set to miss a few weeks.

As for the major injury that impacted the Jaguars, that would be the broken left clavicle suffered by their new quarterback Nick Foles during his debut with Jacksonville. That undoubtedly painful impairment will keep Foles out indefinitely.
