And the Warriors still lost.

Kevin Durant is about to dive into a swimming pool full of gold coins-sized contract when he hits free agency. And he's visualizing that future with his custom-made Christmas Day kicks.

We all know @KDTrey5 IS NOT NICE, so @NikeBasketball hooked him up with "Scrooge McDuck" KD 11 PEs for today's Christmas game against the Lakers. pic.twitter.com/Nd8aTz0XUv

Durant wore Scrooge McDuck-themed Nike Zoom KD 11's with gold coins and matching accents during his game against the Lakers. The move might be a subtle message to the Lebron-led team, who are looking for a few superstars to put around James.

While Durant has been willing to work with Golden State while chasing rings, he's made it clear that he plans to get paid as much as he can wherever he lands next.

"I just want to make sure I get as much money as I can on my next deal so I can stack up my money and figure it out," he said on the Posted Up podcast. "That’s the plan. Play basketball and stack money."

Beyond money, all Durant wants is a team that's willing to play hard. He's been at it too long to be swayed by "bells and whistles."

"Arenas and doing extra s**t just for me? Like, nah. I just want to see if you're a real person, if you are going to hold people accountable every day. Are we all coming to work and enjoying basketball every day? Yeah, that's exactly what I'm getting [at Golden State]."

Unfortunately the shoes weren't enough to lift KD and his teammates, who got blown out at home against the Lakers in what was the marquee game of the NBA's Christmas slate.
