Former NFL defensive lineman Aldon Smith will not face jail time after striking a plea deal with prosecutors in his domestic violence case. TMZ has learned that Smith, who was facing four misdemeanor charges for domestic violence, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment, and vandalism, has plead no contest for two counts which included violating a court order and false imprisonment.

Smith's sentence of 90 days in county jail was accounted for with his time in a live-in alcohol treatment facility, as well as credit for time served for the days he previously spent behind bars. He still received three years probation, one year of domestic violence counseling, and 25 hours of community service.

Smith has been arrested for driving under the influence on four separate occasions. His 2013 arrest included a possession of marijuana charge. That same year, three felony charges of possession of an assault weapon were filed against him. They were eventually reduced to misdemeanors. His NFL career has included a leave of absence when he was place on the non-football injury list, a nine-game suspension, and a suspension of one year.

Smith was released by the Oakland Raiders in March 2018, shortly after the domestic violence allegations by his ex-fiancé came to light. While his ex-fiancé acknowledged that she "may never be the same," she wished Aldon the best in his ongoing battle with sobriety.
