The Warriors won their second NBA title in three years by defeating the Cavaliers in the 2017 NBA Finals on Monday night, and as you might expect, they partied—a lot—after they did. They reportedly racked up a $150,000 tab at a club in San Francisco, but according to Draymond Green, the party didn’t end there.
Green was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night, and while speaking with Jimmy Kimmel, he said that the Warriors’ after-party took place at Klay Thompson’s house, which the Warriors’ players refer to as the "Trap House." And things apparently got so crazy that Green ended up passing out on Thompson’s couch at one point during the early morning.
"Tuesday morning, I slept on Klay’s couch," Green said. "I don’t even know if that’s the best place to sleep, honestly. You never know with Klay…Klay got, we call it the 'Trap House.' He got a swimming pool. So…"
"No guest room?" Kimmel asked.
"Klay got a million people living with him—it’s weird," Green said. "His brother and then his homeboy, another homeboy, and he used to have some random living with him. I don’t know if the random lives there anymore. So I just slept on the couch."
Green also addressed some things Kevin Durant said during his appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast on Tuesday. KD told Simmons that, of all the Warriors players, Green was the drunkest during the post-Finals celebration. Green disputed that.
"See, I’m just the easiest target," Green said. "If you say that, everyone is going to believe it. So they just throw me under the bus. It’s not true! But those guys, they throw me under the bus because I’m the easy target. Like, if you said Steph [Curry], your reaction would be, 'No, not Steph.' But if you say Draymond, 'Oh, yeah, for sure, definitely.' I’m the easy target."
