JUCO Football Game Ends Before Halftime Because of "Violent Ejections"

A sad night for all the community college football fans in Mississippi...

Tonight a complete disaster busted out on the field of a football game between two bastions of education: Mississippi Delta and East Mississippi Community College. Due to all the chaos the game was called with less than a minute left in the first half.

Scott Walters, who writes for the Commercial Dispatch in Columbus, Miss., tweeted the following description of the utter pandemonium taking place:

EMCC has called a pair of timeouts to force the punt and secure one more first-half possession, leading 48-0

Both benches have cleared and the fight is on

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

Trash cans being thrown, players running wildly all over the field ... This has gone on for five minutes

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

Lack of security controlling this situation is amazing

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

Players are finally back at both benches and a handful of law enforcement is on the field at midfield

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

We have 59 seconds left first half for the record

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

The game has ben called ... Final - No. 3 EMCC 48, Mississippi Delta 0

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

The game has been called due to "violent ejections" for both teams

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

From a personal standpoint ... Kudos to the Delta linebacker who threw a garbage can 20 yards in the air ... Easily enough for a first down

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

He also tweeted the alleged origin of the brawl:

EMCC’s Buddy Stephens “it all started in the pregame with one of our managers getting five stitches (from an attack by a Delta player)”

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

Stephens “I don’t care, you could have been Ray Charles and you could have seen what was going on the whole first half”

— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015

If EMCC sounds familiar to you, it's probably because they had an incident about a month ago where a freaking referee, of all people, got ejected after attacking a coach.

Sounds like a fun team to watch.
