After reintroducing the "University Red" Air Max 1 in its original Big Bubble form for Air Max Day (March 26) this year, another iteration of the classic running sneaker is returning with the updated treatment soon.

Official product images of the "Obsidian" Air Max 1 '86 have emerged on the backend of Nike's website. The sneaker features a traditional white mesh and grey nubuck combination on the upper, while navy accents cover the Swoosh and mudguard. This style also dons red accents on the eyelets, the tongue tag, and "Nike Air" branding on the heel. As the name suggests, this "Big Bubble" version features a "four circle" Air unit on the midsole instead of three on the standard Air Max 1s.

The Nike Air Max 1 debuted in 1987, but this colorway didn't release until 1988. This "Obsidian" iteration was last released in 2017 as part of the shoe's remastered lineup.

As of now, release details for this "Obsidian" Air Max 1 '86 have yet to be announced by Nike.

UPDATE (08/28): Nike has officially confirmed that the "Obsidian" Air Max 1 '86 will be released on Sept. 9 via SNKRS for $150.
