New Balance is expanding on its already long list of in-line sneaker options with the introduction of the WRPD Runner shown here.

The New Balance WRPD Runner will make its debut in the "Sea Salt" colorway next week. According to the Boston-based brand, the WRPD Runner deviates from traditional lifestyle models from New Balance as the shoe combines its newest tech with the aesthetic of futuristic designs.

The WRPD Runner's mesh and suede upper is inspired by retro running models, while the FuelCell-cushioned midsole and the warped outsole give the shoe a futuristic aesthetic.

"The WRPD Runner is a new concept driven by the unique space where style and performance meet," Charlotte Lee, the senior footwear designer at New Balance, said. "The upper has a refined focus on simplicity and quality whilst the sole is a warped expression of our pinnacle running technology, FuelCell. The fluid lines of the foam are blended with the abstract nature of futuristic design, evoking a strong sense of movement."

Readers will be able to cop the New Balance WRPD Runner in the "Sea Salt" colorway starting on Aug. 16 at newbalance.com and at select New Balance retailers for $140. Additional colorways of the shoe will drop later this year.
