Jordan Brand is referencing one of Michael Jordan's basketball superstitions with this upcoming University of North Carolina Tar Heels-themed Air Jordan 3.
According to Jordan Brand, this UNC-inspired "Lucky Shorts" colorway pays tribute to the Tar Heels practice shorts MJ used to wear underneath his Chicago Bulls uniform during games for good luck.
This Air Jordan 3 sports a white leather upper offset by grey suede panels replacing the traditional elephant print at the forefoot and heel counter. UNC blue hits appear on the tongue, heel tab, and midsole, while a special tag behind the tongue directly references the aforementioned shorts.
Readers will be able to cop the "Lucky Shorts" Air Jordan 3 starting on Feb. 22 via SNKRS and at select Jordan Brand stockists. The sneaker retails for $200.
