Paolo Banchero, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year from the Orlando Magic, is the latest emerging star from the Seattle area. As a kid, Banchero honed his craft as part of Rotary Style Basketball, the basketball program at a local Boys & Girls Club. He competed with Rotary from kindergarten through high school, laying the groundwork for what became a promising career as one of the world's best young players. Now, Banchero is returning to Rotary and giving back to his old program.
Banchero recently unveiled a Rotary-inspired Jordan Luka 1 PE styled in the team's colors. As a surprise, he returned for a visit and gifted pairs to 7th and 8th-grade students. Also in attendance was Coach Daryll Hennings and fellow Seattle native, retired NBA veteran Jamal Crawford.
Benchero also shared a post on Instagram expressing gratitude to Jordan Brand for helping make the moment possible.
These "Rotary" Luka 1s will remain exclusive to Banchero and kids from the program. He'll resume playing later this month as a member of Team USA in the FIBA World Championships.
