Could Kanye West’s rocky relationship with Michael Jordan be on its way to being mended?

During West’s recent Miami visit to record with DJ Khaled, MJ’s son Marcus hopped into Khaled’s Instagram comments to propose a meeting between the faces of the Yeezy and Jordan brands. “Let’s make that convo happen,” Marcus wrote, tagging Khaled. “Kanye West and pops.”

What may have otherwise been an overlooked comment was amplified when West himself responded by posting a Jumpman logo on his Instagram account alongside a screenshot of Marcus’ mention. The Yeezy designer didn’t add any other insight aside from an eyes emoji, but he’s been vocal about his desire to meet with Jordan in recent years.

Known for his love of Air Jordans prior to launching his Yeezy label with Adidas, Kanye changed his tune at the end of 2015 with his single “Facts” when he infamously proclaimed “Yeezy just jumped over Jumpman.” The backpedal started quickly, and by February 2016 West was apologizing to Jordan on Twitter. “I’m sorry Michael Jordan I love and respect you,” West wrote. “My beef was with [former Nike CEO] Mark Parker. I respect you so much!”

Things between the two were fairly quiet in the years that followed, but West brought the feud back into the public eye last November during the second installment of his Drink Champs interview, claiming MJ was still upset over “Facts.”

“Jordan still won’t meet with me,” West said. “I’m trying to meet with Michael Jordan, it’s like ‘Man, it’s a song, man.’”

While Jordan has yet to publicly acknowledge the purported beef and song, it’s clear that at least one member of the family is willing to put it behind them.
