Last year, the iconic Jordan Brand blessed everyone in Toronto with a wildly successful pop-up store during the NBA All-Star Weekend. To the surprise of no one, the location quickly became a huge draw for sneakerheads all over the city and provided customers with a completely devoted experience full of slick branded gear. Unfortunately, like every pop-up store, the location wasn’t around forever and eventually closed its doors after a limited run. Shortly after the spot disappeared, however, there was news that the wise team over at Jordan were planning to feed the frenzy by opening a permanent store for Toronto fans.

This was definitely exciting news for Toronto faithful, but it took a whole lot of time until a permanent store was set to open its doors for good. This week, the promise will be fulfilled with a location in the city’s busy downtown core. According to an initial press release from Nike's news team last year, the store opening will build upon the hype from some big names who visited the spot in the past. You can read an excerpt below.

In partnership with Foot Locker, the permanent space will expand both its footprint and new customer experiences that build upon the opening weekend buzz, which included key shoe drops and visits by Jordan Brand family members. Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, CP3, Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard, Victor Oladipo, and LaMarcus Aldridge all stopped by, but it was a special opening-day visit by Michael Jordan – the man who inspired the brand over 30 years ago – that incited the most excitement.

This week, the good folks over at Jordan built more hype with social media campaigns featuring Toronto talent like Tyler Ennis, Marcus Stroman, and Tyrone "T-Rex" Edwards. Canada’s first Jordan store will launch at 306 Yonge on May 27, and will be armed with a whole ton of dope sneakers and apparel.
