Force came before Flight here on Earth and at Nike. This was another campaign that was introduced with the Flight range of sneakers in 1989 and was intended to distinguish the differences between the technology in the Flight and Force ranges of sneakers. Flight was for your high-flying slam dunker (or 8th grader like me who thought he was), who wanted the “Lightest Nike Basketball Shoe On Earth”, and Force was made for the more physical player who posted up down low and crashed the boards. The Air Jordans became part of the Flight line those years and the Force series was embodied by “The Round Mound Of Rebound”. Another highlight was the acid-washed warm-ups in the 1990-1991 Force catalogs.
