With The Batman now mere hours away from its release, Zoë Kravitz has treated fans with some sweatpants-focused insight on her screen test with Robert Pattinson.

Speaking with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday’s Tonight Show, Kravitz—who plays Selina Kyle in Matt Reeves’ film—was asked to tell the audience how she landed the part.

“I got a phone call. My agent told me that I was on the list of actors they were looking at,” Kravitz, who can currently be seen in Steven Soderbergh’s KIMI on HBO Max, said. “Even that would have been enough. To be on that list was pretty wild. And then I flew out to LA to meet Matt Reeves, the director, and loved him and just loved his vision. … He’s a wonderful human, wonderful director. Just cares so much.”

As for that screen test, Kravitz noted that she and Pattinson already knew each other, though this would mark their first time working together.

“I had to camera test with him and that was kind of funny,” she said. “Just to camera test with someone you know dressed as Batman and you haven’t seen him in a while. … Yeah, they put him in, I think, George Clooney’s suit. But then you kinda catch up, you know, you’re like ‘So how you been?’”

Continuing, Kravitz provided more details on Pattinson’s screen test attire. “Only from the waist up, by the way,” she said of his Batsuit selection. “He was wearing sweatpants at the bottom. … Casual Batman.” From there, Kravitz elaborated further on this “Casual Batman” style while also praising Pattinson’s ability to swiftly get into the character’s head.

“I was so scared that I was gonna be just thinking like, ‘Oh my God. It’s Rob dressed as Batman. That’s weird.’ But he was so wonderful that I totally forgot it was him, actually, which was really impressive,” Kravitz added.

Later, Kravitz and Fallon traded jokes about studying cats and drinking milk out of a bowl. Kravitz also noted that the Batman cats were indeed the “hardest thing to control” during production, despite having scheduled “cat time” on her agenda to get better acquainted with her character’s feline friends.

In another clip, Kravitz shared more thoughts on The Batman, including her take on some early reactions to the film’s story. See that below.
