After a statement was released by the Orange County Medical Examiner revealing that Bob Saget’s cause of death was most likely from falling and hitting the back of his head, an investigation has now uncovered more details about how it all might’ve happened.

Saget’s official cause of death was ruled to be from “posterior scalp abrasions, subgaleal hemorrhage, discoloration in the upper and lower eyelids due to skull fracture, subdural hematoma, and subarachnoid hemorrhage.” According to a new report from People, investigators told the publication that their theory is that Saget fell backward in his Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes hotel bathroom the night of his death.

The Orange County Sheriff’s department came to this conclusion after examining surveillance footage from the hotel and determining that the Full House actor was not in distress when he entered his room for the night. They believe that the fatal fall might have occurred in the hotel bathroom where Saget might’ve slipped, lost consciousness, woke up, and then crawled into bed where he would later lose consciousness again and eventually die from his injuries. This is not a conclusive finding, however, and the investigation surrounding his death is still ongoing.

Bob Saget’s family released a statement after learning the cause of his death where they shared that no drugs or alcohol were involved.

“Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us,” the statement read. “The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”

Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, also shared a heartfelt post earlier this month remembering the good times they had together.

“I can’t even put into words how much I will miss this,” the emotional caption closed.
