Jason Momoa has joined the cast of Fast & Furious 10, the working title for the follow-up to 2021’s F9: The Fast Saga.

Although plot details are still unconfirmed, Momoa could play a new villain. The Hollywood Reporter revealed the news, with the franchise confirming it on Twitter by writing, “The Fast Fam keeps getting bigger. Welcome, Jason Momoa.”

Justin Lin, who directed the latest installment of the blockbuster series, is set to return, as are Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Michelle Rodriguez.

The news arrives amid a prolific run for Momoa. Filming for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom kicked off last summer, with the sequel to 2018’s Aquaman set to debut in theaters on Dec. 16, 2022. His fantasy film Slumberland, based on the comics by Winsor McCay, is due out from Netflix later this year. And, of course, the 42-year-old actor will return for the sequel to last year’s box office smash Dune.

Earlier this month, Momoa and Lisa Bonet parted ways after 16 years of dating. The couple announced their decision in a joint statement posted on social media.

“We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception,” read the statement posted on Momoa’s Instagram. “Feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so~ We share our Family news~ That we are parting ways in marriage.”

They continued: “We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy ~ But so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty. The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other ~to be who we are learning to become… Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life & our Children Teaching our Children What’s possible ~ Living the Prayer May Love Prevail.”
