It’s a sad day for phallus-shaped laser enthusiasts, as the devices are being blamed for a recent dinner dispute involving Jamie Foxx.
At least, that’s the takeaway from TMZ’s latest reporting on the incident, which took place while Foxx and his family were celebrating the Oscar-winning actor and comedian’s birthday earlier this month. Specifically, Foxx was at Mr Chow in the Beverly Hills area at the time, with previous reports stating he cut his mouth after a glass was allegedly thrown.
Citing sources in possession of what the publication says is “direct knowledge” of the situation, the latest report adds that Dickhouse Productions, as in the production company behind the Jackass franchise, was at the same establishment for a holiday get-together. At one point in the evening, it’s alleged that someone from the Dickhouse party pointed the aforementioned phallic laser at Foxx’s table, upsetting the actor.
When Foxx and others in his party approached the Dickhouse crew, an escalation allegedly unfolded, resulting in the numerous headlines you’ve no doubt seen since.
Complex has reached out to reps for Dickhouse and Foxx for comment. This story may be updated. An attorney representing Dickhouse is quoted in the TMZ piece as calling the claims “totally inaccurate.”
“The devil is a lie,” Foxx, whose new Netflix special is up for a Golden Globe award next month, said on IG this week following a wave of initial reports on the Mr Chow incident. “Can’t win here.”
The special marked a pivotal moment in Foxx’s career, as it stood as the first time he had publicly opened up about suffering a brain bleed and stroke.
