Following some confusion and debate among fans in the wake of comments from a Sony rep, Insomniac Games has confirmed that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is indeed a "standalone game."

That's the word that first came straight from someone "familiar with development," perBloomberg's Jason Schreier, who noted that the title—while smaller than the usual console game—will indeed be sold as a solo entry.

To be clear, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will not be an expansion for the first Spider-Man game that dropped for PlayStation 4 back in 2018. The confusion felt among fans following Thursday's trailer was compounded later by comments from Sony's VP of European Business, who (incorrectly) told the Telegraph one "could call" the title "an expansion and an enhancement to the previous game."

Other notable titles teased during Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event on Thursday include Gran Turismo 7, Godfall, Horizon: Forbidden West, Resident Evil 8: VillageNBA 2K21, a "new and enhanced" edition of Grand Theft Auto V, Project Athia, Demon's Souls, and many more.
