DuckTales, the only reboot that matters, has finally announced its impressive AF voice cast in the best way imaginable. Instead of hitting us with a boring press release, Disney XD shared a clip of the new DuckTales team rocking the hell out of the late '80s classic's banger of a theme song.
Ex Dr. Who star David Tennant has been gifted with the role of Scrooge McDuck, the prominent tycoon who also happens to be a duck. Tennant is joined by Community star Danny Pudi (Huey), Parks & Recreation alum Ben Schwartz (Dewey) and Saturday Night Live mainstay Bobby Moynihan (Louie).
Webby Vanderquack will be voiced by Kate Micucci (Don't Think Twice), with another major quack role—i.e. Launchpad McQuack—going to Moynihan's fellow SNL personality Beck Bennett. Toks Olagundoye will give life to Mrs. Beakley, originally voiced by Joan Gerber in the classic series which ran from 1987 to 1990.
Though a specific premiere date has not been announced, Disney is promising a summer 2017 release:
By this time next year, perhaps all of television will simply be new versions of things that already existed.
