Though originally expected to make her first post-Vanity Fair cover public appearance at the ESPYs next month to receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, Caitlyn Jenner decided to stop by an NYC Pride event on Saturday to celebrate what proved to be a truly historic week for equality in America. Jenner was reportedly filming the appearance for her forthcoming E! docuseries I Am Cait:

The event — which took place at PH-D Rooftop Lounge at the Dream Downtown Hotel — was part of Voss Events' annual Pride celebration. Jenner cheered on the performance of Candis Cayne, who became the first transgender actress to portray a transgender character on primetime TV with Dirty Sexy Money in 2007. Cayne dedicated a performance of "I Am a Woman" to Jenner, prompting an emotional response for Jenner and fellow guests alike.

The eight-part docuseries I Am Cait premieres on July 26 — though E! has already released several teasers. Jenner is expected to be joined by family to accept the aforementioned Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs on July 15.
