Wednesday actor Percy Hynes White broke his silence on sexual assault allegations.

The co-star of the hit Netflix series took to his Instagram to discuss accusations that surfaced back in January. "Hey everyone. There’s something I need to clarify," he wrote. "Earlier this year, somebody I’ve never met started a campaign of misinformation about me online. Because of this, my family has been doxxed, and my friends have received death threats."

Hynes White continued by stating that "underage" photos of him were used and taken advantage of. The 21-year-old Canadian defended his friend Jane—whose name was brought into the allegations—on her behalf.

"The rumors are false. I can't accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted, or criminally negligent of people's safety. These are the kind of baseless, harmful claims that can create mistrust toward victims," he said. "It's very distressing to know that this misinformation has upset people."

As he concluded the message, he thanked those who have stood up for him. "Harassment of my family, friends, and coworkers needs to stop please. Thank you for taking the time to read this," he signed off.

At the beginning of 2023, Hynes White was accused of predatory and abusive behavior via Twitter after a user identified him in pictures and messages, causing #cancelpercy to trend.

"The user claimed that Hynes White and his friends threw parties and provided alcohol and drugs to underage girls in order to have sex with them. ... Similar allegations appeared on Twitter after the first accusation gained traction," Variety reports.

Percy Hynes White is well known for his role on Netflix's hit comedy-horror series Wednesday as Xavier Thorpe.
