Brendan Dassey, nephew of Making a Murderer subject Steven Avery, was released from prison on Aug. 12. Now, the state of Wisconsin is running out of time to appeal. Uproxx reports that the state's Attorney General has until Sept. 12 to try to make a new judge throw out the decision and reinstate Dassey's conviction.

There was speculation on Friday that the Wisconsin Department of Justice was going to announce a decision about Dassey's case. Steven Avery's attorney Kathleen Zellner tweeted—and then quickly deleted—a picture saying "It is over." She replaced that tweet with a more ambiguous one.
