Roddy Ricch, Ella Mai, Macy Gray, Swae Lee, and Chris Paul are set to star in an upcoming animated feature called Sneaks. The feature is being produced by Laurence Fishburne, who will also be voice acting in it, with Mustard acting as an executive music producer.

According to Deadline, the animated feature is being made through Lengi Studios and Fishburne’s Cinema Gypsy Productions and focuses on a group of shoes lost in New York City trying to find their “sole mates.” Swae Lee, Ella Mai, and Macy Gray play different shoe protagonists, while Roddy is voice acting as a mysterious character called “The Forger,” with Fishburne voicing the evil “Collector.” Chris Paul will be voice acting as himself as well.

When talking about the feature, Fishburne said that he wants Sneaks to pay homage to the diverse and flourishing sneaker culture that continues to grow across the world.

“Our film will illuminate and pay homage to the forever growing and popular sneaker culture that continues to inspire and be inspired by musicians, athletes and artists alike,” he said, “and I’m thrilled by the cast and crew who have decided to join us on the journey.”

Mustard also added that he’s honored to be a part of the film and hopes that his musical expertise can add a new layer to it.

“I really see the music in this film as a crucial part of the storytelling. As the first family animated feature film to be steeped in sneaker culture, – I am honored to draw from my expertise as a producer and artist, and my love of sneakers, to create moments that really connect,” Mustard said. “The added bonus is that this is a film that I’ll be able to enjoy with my family and kids.”

Sneaks is currently in its pre-production phase and there is no word yet on when it might be released.
