Racism rears its ugly head again: a white hotel manager made fun of Sandra Bland by hanging a "slave doll" from an office doorway with a garbage bag noose. On July 13 authorities found Bland dead in her Waller County, Texas jail cell. She was believed to have committed suicide by hanging herself with a garbage bag, but her death is being investigated.
The hideous act was captured by an employee at the Adams Mark Hotel in Kansas City, who took a picture on July 21 and showed it to attorney Stacy Shaw seeking legal advice. Shaw released the photo on Monday.
The incident was confirmed by the hotel’s general manager, John Parker. He described the incident as being “completely inconsistent” with the hotel’s beliefs and added that the manager was fired after.
