Kai Cenat might be looking at a crossover.
In a new conversation with Billboard, the 23-year-old revealed that he wants to experiment outside of streaming—and perhaps, leave it behind entirely. He's developed an interest in acting and directing movies, something which his pal, Kevin Hart encourages. While Cenat didn’t give up any details, he said Hart recommends movies for him to watch and “has been advising him,” the outlet writes.
“I would love to be in movies and stuff; he definitely pushes me,” Kai added. “He tries to connect me to the right people that direct and write movies and produce them.”
While Cenat envisions a life outside of streaming, he said right now might not be the best time.
“Our good friend, Mr. Beast, was like, ‘Why would you use something that you’re so good at to catapult you into another category? Just be completely dominant in the category that you’re in right now and just take over that.’ And I’m like, ‘Damn, he does make a good point.’ ”
Instead, the streamer is taking matters into his own hands and is looking to produce his own movie. “I want to be able to, like, put it out to the world,” he says. “I’m going to take a hit financially. But like, I want to be able to put it out to the world and just see if a company will pick it up.”
Cenat and Hart became fast friends after the comedian appeared on Cenat’s Twitch last May. One of the funnier moments is when Hart roasted Cenat over awkwardly asking out Tyla on his stream, who appeared to curve him.
"I almost punched you in the fucking face. Right there, I almost punched you in the fucking face. What made you do that?!” Hart said when reacting to a video of the incident. “Look at that dumbass smile on your face, you look like a creep. You look like you smell seats."
