UPDATED 6/19, 10 p.m.: GoFundMe gave an official comment to TMZ in regard to the situation.

"Ensuring that donors' intentions are honored is our top priority. However, upon being informed that Mr. Amos wished to decline the funds raised on his behalf, the GoFundMe was put under review by our Trust & Safety team and then removed from our platform," a spokesman stated.

Daughter Shannon Amos made the fundraiser on his behalf. The goal was originally set at $500,000, and roughly $13K was donated from over 300 people. That money has been refunded to the supporters.

John Amos made headlines recently due to his health.

Just days ago, his daughter Shannon Amos said he was the victim of elder abuse at the hands of a caregiver. John denied those allegations and has now accused Shannon of elder abuse instead.

The actor made the claims in a video posted by his son, K.C. Amos, where John said he feels like his daughter has “taken advantage” of him.

“She would be the primary suspect—if you would,” the 83-year-old said on the phone. “I don’t know if that’s the right term to use or not. But she’s the one that I would attribute my elderly abuse to. It’s definitely a case of elderly abuse."

John also issued a statement to People regarding K.C.’s video.

"To all of my fans, I want to share this video with you to show you that I am not in the distressed condition as described in the GoFundMe page,” he said. "As a matter of fact, I am doing well."

Shannon first accused a “caregiver” of abusing her father on June 8, saying that John allegedly suffered “elder abuse and financial exploitation.” She added, "His home had been violated, stripped of anything valuable.”

John later said that his daughter was lying, telling TMZ that, “no one is abusing him and he hasn't been fighting for his life."

Shannon set up a GoFundMe to raise money for her father. According to The Blast, the GoFundMe accumulated over $13,000 from 325 donors before it was pulled.

John was hospitalized on May 14 when it was discovered that his lower body was full of fluids. His body was drained and his rep, Belinda Foster, told TMZ that he had “started to feel 100 percent.” Regardless, the Colorado Bureau of Investigations and local police have launched a probe into the reported abuse against Amos.
