Will Smith is jumping into his 50s. Literally.
On Tuesday, the multi-hyphenate will celebrate the big 5-0 by bungee jumping over the Grand Canyon. Smith teased the stunt earlier in the day, posting footage of a not-so-encouraging practice run involving a dummy.
The jump is part of an ongoing series aptly called Will Smith: The Jump. The actor explained his decision in a video earlier this month: "I’ve had a whole lifetime of feeling squashed, squelched and controlled by fear." Will continued, "I hate being scared. I don’t want to be scared to do shit. [...] Fear keeps you from seeing beauty."
Will's family, including his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, as well as his kids Trey, Willow, and Jaden, were also in attendance to show their support. Will decided to do the jump after being challenged by Yes Theory and is raising donations for Education Cannot Wait.
