Finn Wolfhard is becoming a staple in within the 1980s nostalgia genre.

After starring in Netflix's Stranger Thingsand Warner Bros' 2017 It remake, the 16-year-old actor is reportedly in talks to star in the next Ghostbusters film. Variety reports the sequel, which is set for a summer 2020 premiere, will follow a single mother and her family; Wolfhard is being considered to play the son, while The Leftovers actress Carrie Coon is in talks to play the film's matriarch. Plot details have not been revealed, so it's unclear how the family will encounter the movie's titular team.

The upcoming Ghostbusters installment will be directed by Jason Reitman—the son of Ghostbusters' original director Ivan Reitman. Jason spoke about his involvement with the project earlier this year, confirming it will be set in the film's original universe, but mark a new chapter for the beloved franchise.

"I've always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set," he told Entertainment Weekly back in January. "I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans. This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the '80s happened in the '80s, and this is set in the present day."

Jason's Ghostbusters is scheduled begin production sometime this summer and is expected to hit theaters July 10, 2020.
