On Christmas, the best movie of 2019 hit its wide theatrical release. Uncut Gems, which has everyone buzzing over Adam Sandler's amazing performance a Diamond District deviant Howard Ratner, is the latest intense ride from the Safdie brothers and the mighty A24. We got a chance to not only check out the film earlier this year (during the Toronto International Film Festival), but we even got a chance to speak with Gems stars Sandler, Lakeith Stanfield, Julia Fox, and Idina Menzel.
During our conversation, we not only touched on the Safdie's process and how all pieces of the film fit to make a complex puzzle, but also about how they fully captured the not-so-distant New York City of 2012.
