NBC has renewed This Is Us for three more Seasons, Variety reports. This isn't the first time NBC has ordered multiple seasons of the drama series at once, previously renewing it for Season 2 and 3 after it premiered to strong ratings and critical praise. The show just finished airing its third season last month, with Seasons 4, 5 and 6 expected to premiere in 2019, 2020, and 2021 respectively.
"In a television landscape with nearly 500 original scripted series, there are very few, if any, that have the critical and cultural impact of This Is Us and we couldn’t be more proud to bring fans three more seasons of a show that so well represents the NBC brand," NBC presidents of scripted programming Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta explained. "A huge thank you and congratulations to our executive producers, cast and crew who reach new heights every week with the show’s inventive and compelling storytelling."
As the number one show in the key adults 18-49 demographic, season 3 of This Is Us averaged an impressive 13.8 million viewers per episode. Following a family through multiple time periods, This Is Us stars Sterling K. Brown, Justin Hartley, Jon Huertas, Chrissy Metz, Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Susan Kelechi Watson, and Chris Sullivan.
