Bragging about “taking” someone’s virginity is a tragic vestige of collective misogyny. Just 11 short years ago, That '70s Show star Wilmer Valderrama (you may know him as Fez) gave an interview on the Howard Stern Show where he did just that. In 2007, Valderrama went into detail about his sexual relationships with a number of young women, including Mandy Moore.

Now more than a decade later, the This Is Us star got the chance to publicly address Valderrama's comments during her own interview on Stern’s SiriusXM radio show. According to Moore, Valderrama lied, saying “he did not” her virginity.

“I dated him when I was 16, 17, no,” she told Stern. “I love him and I still love him and he’s a very good friend and that’s why I was so shocked by it. Not only was it a fib, but it was so unlike him, so uncharacteristic. He’s dated all the ladies. I met him at a photoshoot for some teen magazine when I was 15. Never French-kissed a boy, he was like my first true boyfriend.”

The comments not only upset Moore, but her family. “They were bummed,” she said. “Don Moore, my dad, especially was like, ‘What? I liked that young man.'”

Moore didn't let Valderrama get away with the lie. She apparently confronted him shortly after the interview. “I remember in the moment he tried to explain it away that he did get caught up and maybe insinuated more than outright said it and I said, ‘No, you outright said it,'” Moore said. “I was like, ‘Why would you ever talk about that with anybody and lie about it?'”

She eventually took the high road, though Moore had every right to be angry, and let bygones be bygones. “We don’t talk about it now. I moved past it now,” she said. “We’re not that close, but we’re friendly. We have some mutual friends. He came to my house a couple months ago, he had some friends over. He’s a good guy, he really is.”
