Bobbi Althoff, NLE Choppa Get Candid About Suicidal Thoughts as Teens, Rapper Says ‘He’s So Glad’ She’s Still Here: ‘You Wouldn't Know Me Now’
The podcaster said she tried to kill herself when she was just 14.
On the latest episode of Bobbi Althoff's The Really Good Podcast, the TikTok star and podcaster told NLE Choppa that she suffered with suicidal thoughts when she was a teenager.
At around the 36-minute mark of the episode, which can be seen above, Choppa spoke about his experiences as a teenager and Althoff shared that she was trying to relate but her adolescent years were dramatically different. "At 14 what were you doing?" the rapper asked her. "I just started high school, I was just going to school," she replied. "Oh, I tried to kill myself when I was 14."
Choppa seemed surprised by what Althoff said but said that it was a "safe space" for her to talk about her struggles if she was up for it. "I ain't going to judge you, I tried to kill myself before, too," he said. "I ain't gonna lie, I did not try to kill myself at 14 but I ain't really give a fuck about life at 14."
Asked about what led her to feel that way, Althoff matter-of-factly replied, "'Cause I didn't want to live." Choppa instantly added, "I'm so glad you didn't do that." With a smile on her face, Althoff asked why and said, "You wouldn't know me now." He replied, "But look at you now, just imagine what your 14-year-old self saying to your current self." Althoff conceded that she was "pretty down bad" when she was younger, but insisted that "it's good now."
Choppa slowed things down for a moment and took off his chain and his t-shirt so he could directly address the camera. "I feel like in our community we always looking at what we don't go, and we'll look at what other people got and be like, 'Damn I want to get there one day,'" he said. "We looking at them and they going through the same shit. You get what I'm saying?"

Elsewhere in the same interview, the "Slut Me Out 2" rapper reiterated his confidence in his own attractiveness. "I don't know, bro," 21-year-old NLE began. "Some people say it's cocky. I say it's just confident. I'm just confident in my features. I just feel like, on my life, if I was to look at me? If I was to be introduced to NLE Choppa, and I say, 'Hey, how you doing? I'm some, some, some name,' and he say, 'I'm NLE Choppa. You wanna fuck?' And that's the first time I'm ever even talking to NLE Choppa. On my life, I'm dropping drawers, gang."
He continued, "You feel me? I'm fucking me. I'm fucking me. Intercourse me, please. You feel me? I love me, cuh. Like, no cap."
