Netflix has shared the first teaser for Hustle, the LeBron James-produced sports drama starring Adam Sandler as a basketball scout looking to restart his career.

Directed by Jeremiah Zagar, who previously helmed the independent drama We the Animals in 2018, Hustle follows Sandler’s character as he discovers a one-in-a-lifetime player abroad. Inspired by the young man’s talent despite a troubled past, he’s determined to get the player into the NBA. The teaser shows how cutthroat the life of an athlete can be, from brutal training regimes to highly competitive players on the court.

Queen Latifah, Robert Duvall, and Ben Foster are also featured in the film, which comes from writers Will Fetters (A Star Is Born) and Taylor Materne. As Sandler teased earlier this year, viewers can also expect appearances from some of the Philadelphia 76ers roster, including Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, Tyrese Maxey, and head coach Doc Rivers.

Hustle will be the latest project to come as part of Sandler’s extensive partnership with Netflix, where his movies are known to perform well. Unlike the majority of his projects for the streamer, however, Hustle is a far more dramatic affair. Typically, he’s made goofy comedies under his Happy Madison Productions banner, including Murder Mystery (which is set to get a sequel), and Hubie Halloween among others. It’s not surprising the Sandman wants to take a more serious approach to basketball, however, as he’s known for his love of the sport.

Hustle hits Netflix on June 10. Catch the teaser up top.
