Nicole Curran became an unwitting celebrity after Beyoncé fans noticed her leaning across Bey to talk to JAY-Z in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Since the clip of Beyoncé's expressive reaction went viral, the wife of Warriors owner Joe Lacob has found herself in the intense spotlight that only the Beyhive can bring. Curran spoke to ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne, saying that the brief interaction has led to "death threats."
"She was in tears. Said she had been getting death threats on social media all night this morning she disabled her IG account just to make it stop," Shelburne shared on Twitter.
Ramona reported that the interaction came after Curran asked the couple if they wanted drinks. She leaned over Beyoncé to hear Jay over the noise of the Oracle Arena.
Curran added that the incident wasn't hostile and that she can't believe the outrage her hosting garnered.
“There was no hostility. I was trying to be a good hostess,” she reportedly said. “I’ve never experienced cyber bullying like this. I can’t believe our players go through this. That kids go through this.“
