When God says yes, no one can say no. Not even Oprah.
Even though the media mogul has said many different times that she is not running for president because itās ānot in her DNA,ā she offered one disclaimer: The Lord.Ā In an interview with People, Oprah explains that sheās waiting for a sign from God to tell her if sheās meant to run against our currentĀ Cheeto-in-chief or not. āI went into prayer,ā she told the magazine. If anyone has ever questioned OprahāsĀ Mississippi roots, put that doubt to rest, because this is as Southern as it gets.
The journalist/philanthropist/entertainer is apparently fielding offers from billionaires to fund her campaign. āI had peopleāwealthy, billionairesācalling me up and saying, āI can get you a billion dollars. I can run your campaign,'" she reveals. āThat many people saying something made me think, āAm I at least supposed to look at the question?āā
Even Oprahās BFF Gayle is encouraging her to consider the option, so far it seems like the man upstairs has not given Oprah the green light. āGod, if you think Iām supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.ā And I havenāt gotten that yet,ā Winfrey said.Ā As we wait on the Lordās cue, Oprah has focused her attention on promoting A Wrinkle in Time. TheĀ Ava DuVernay masterpiece that Winfrey both stars in and produces hits theaters next weekend.Ā
The ball is in your court God. Just saying, Oprah would be a fire president.Ā Ā
