Today in abject inevitability, we have word on some scripted shenanigans inspired by Joe Exotic.

Rob Lowe, whose recent Joe cosplay may or may not have found its way onto your timeline over the past few days, is said to be "in discussions" with Ryan Murphy about a scripted adaptation of the story at the heart of the blockbuster Netflix docuseries Tiger King. Per Deadline's report, which notes that such discussions are in "very preliminary stages," Lowe would play Mr. Exotic.

The possible link-up makes sense, as Lowe is currently a part of 9-1-1: Lone Star, co-created by Murphy, not to mention the fact that Murphy has an overall deal with Tiger King's streaming home of Netflix. Lowe himself also teased the possibility on social media.

At the top of the week, Nielsen came through with some stats regarding Tiger King's streaming dominance in the COVID-19 era. The series bagged more than 34 million viewers in its first 10 days of release, a number that’s strong enough to place the operatic fuckery in coveted Stranger Things territory.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the series' conversational omnipresence has also extended to the goddamn White House. Joe Exotic, as previously reported, also penned a letter to Trump in 2019 asking for either a special investigation or a pardon regarding his Tiger King-depicted conviction.
