Idris Elba Breaks Down His "War Machine" 'Hobbs & Shaw' Character Brixton in This Exclusive Clip

Idris Elba gives 'Hobbs & Shaw' fans a behind-the-scenes look at his new character, the "black Superman" Brixton.

On August 2, Universal Pictures' Fast & Furious franchise spins off Hobbs & Shaw, which is feeling like the kind of big-budget action flick the summer 2019 box office needs. The main attraction is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jason Statham reprising their Fast roles of Hobbs and Shaw (respectively), but we're most excited with what they are doing with Idris Elba's menacing villain Brixton, who he breaks down in this exclusive clip.

Elba explains that Brixton was a soldier who was "redesigned" into what his character calls himself: "the black Superman." Calling him "warped" and someone having "a little bit of darkness behind the eyes," Elba also explains that Brixton has computer vision that "allows him to calculate any threat to his being."

Brixton sounds like the biggest threat to the Fast franchise thus far. "He's a human being who has the capabilities of a war machine," Elba states plainly. We'll see if the combined forces of Hobbs and Shaw can take a threat like Brixton out when the film hits theaters on August 2. Check out the exclusive clip up above.
