Complex Networks Scores 3 Webby Awards

The winners of the 2019 Webby Awards have been announced, and Complex took home three awards.

Earlier today, the winners of the 23rd Annual Webby Awards were announced, and Complex Networks won three Webby Awards. Sneaker Shopping, which is hosted by Joe La Puma, was an Academy Winner in the General Video (Fashion & Beauty) category, while First We Feast's Hot Ones won the People’s Voice in the Food & Drink (Video) category. Hot Ones host Sean Evans also won the People’s Voice in the Best Web Personality/ Host (Performance & Craft) category.

The People’s Voice awards were voted on by the public, while the Academy award is voted on by the Webby Academy. This marks Sean Evans' second Webby; he took home the Best Web Personality/ Host Webby in 2018. Complex.com's Music vertical also took home a Webby in 2018, winning in the Websites: Music category.

The Webby Awards are known as "the leading international award honoring excellence on the internet," celebrating excellence in everything from games and podcasts to advertising and more.

The 23rd Annual Webby Awards crowned a number of other winners, from Issa Rae as the Webby Video Person of the Year to Tierra Whack, who won the Webby Artist of the Year accolade for the video rollout of Whack World. Additional winners include the Serial podcast, Will Smith, Marvel's Marvel Unlimited service, Childish Gambino's "This Is America" music video, and more. The 23rd Annual Webby Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, May 13 in New York, and will be hosted by the talented Jenny Slate. The Complex Networks team better get their 5-Word Speeches ready.
