The first trailer for the Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw is finally here. Forcing the former adversaries played by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham to work together against Idris Elba's Brixton, Hobbs & Shaw looks about as ridiculous and fun as what we've come to expect from the franchise.

Featuring a more comedy-oriented tone than the main entries in the series, Hobbs & Shaw is definitely looking to tap into the chemistry of the two leads. The movie is also set to feature Vanessa Kirby, Roman Reigns, and Helen Mirren among others. Hobbs & Shaw will hit cinemas Aug. 2.

The next main entry in the Fast and Furious series isn't arriving until next year, and it likely won't feature series staples Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. "The plan has always been for the Fast and Furious universe to grow and expand," Johnson told MTV News recently. "As of now, we’re not in Fast 9 because they’re getting ready to start shooting. But who knows with Fast 10 and down the road, you never know. Because look, at the end of the day, the truth is, there’s unfinished business between Hobbs and Dom."

That last part of the quote is in reference to Vin Diesel's character Dominic Toretto, who has appeared in every entry in the series besides 2 Fast 2 Furious and this new spinoff. Diesel and Johnson haven't kept it secret that they aren't fans of each other, with Johnson famously calling him a "candyass."
