If you’ve ever wondered what Jake Gyllenhaal looks like playing a super villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, now is your first chance. A few leaked photos from the set of Spider-Man: Far From Home are circulating the web, giving fans their first look at Gyllenhaal dolled up as Mysterio.
Reports Gyllenhaal would take on the role surfaced back in June, and now it appears production is well underway. As Mysterio, a character who entered the Spider-Man comic lexicon in 1964, he becomes the latest big name to join the MCU in a post Thanos-snap world. The photos come all the way from the Czech Republic, where the movie is currently being filmed.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the first film to follow the impending Avengers 4, which will hopefully put the world back in order after Thanos destroyed half the population, including Spidey himself. Avengers 4 hits theaters in May, following Captain Marvel’s release on March 8.
According to Screenrant, this new film finds Tom Holland’s Spider-Man leaving his neighborhood in Queens for an overseas adventure and encounters a mysterious threat. Meanwhile, behind Mysterio’s costume is Quentin Beck, a “failed actor turned special effects guru.” Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders, who plays Fury's frequent partner Maria Hill, will star in the film as well.
Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5, 2019.
