The 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which were hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che, kicked off with the historic victory of Henry Winkler, who won for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. It was Winklerā€™s first win after falling short in his five previous nominations. The Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel cleaned up in the comedy categories with Amy Sherman-Palladino claiming the awards for Directing and Writing, as well as Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein taking the trophy for Lead Actress and Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, respectively.Ā
