YSL Defense Attorney Avoids Jail Time by Purchasing Magic City Wings for Case Lawyers

A defense attorney in the YSL Rico trial is no longer facing jail time. And it’s thanks, in large part, to strip club chicken wings.

According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, attorney Suri Chadha Jimenez was held in contempt this week after he showed up to Tuesday’s court hearing a few minutes late. The presiding judge, Ural Glanville, ordered Jimenez to purchase lunch for the other lawyers in the case, and suggested he get the grub from a nearby sandwich shop. But Jimenez decided he’d pull some strings and order his colleagues some Magic City wings.

He told AJC the iconic strip club doesn’t open its kitchen until 3 p.m., but made its management make an exception and have the food ready by 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Jimenez, who represents defendant Cordarius Dorsey, said he lunch was a huge hit, as his fellow attorneys had multiple servings of the Magic wings and the customer-favorite Lemon Pepper BBQ wings.

“They made a chef come in early, cook all the delicious wings for us,” Jimenez said. “They were hot and ready for me to pick up at the time they told me. They made it happen so I was very happy.”

He continued: “I like to support local businesses, I like to support minority employers. I’ve been there many times to show my support for the local community.”
