SZA is taking SOS on the road starting in February.
As announced on Tuesday, the trek will see SZA embarking on what stands as her first-ever arena tour, complete with special guest Omar Apollo.
“Time to take this shit on the road,” SZA told fans when rolling out the official tour flyer.
The North American run starts on Feb. 21 at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio and wraps on Mar. 22 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Other stops on the 17-date journey include similarly massive venues in Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Austin, Seattle, and more.
To coincide with the announcement of the tour, SZA has also unveiled a new line of merch related to the record. The fresh drop is headlined by of two jerseys—one with an “S” graphic and another with a “7” graphic—and an insulated varsity jacket with an embroidered chest. Also featured in the collection are two short-sleeves, two hoodies, a trucker hat, socks, a bandana, and a mug. Check out a selection of the merch below, and purchase it here.
Ticket sales launch this coming Friday at 12 p.m. local time via this site. See the official tour flyer and full list of dates below.
SOS, the long-teased follow-up to 2015’s universally acclaimed Ctrl, was released last week. Collaborators enlisted across the 23-track project include Phoebe Bridgers, Don Toliver, Travis Scott, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.
In a recent interview with Nessa for Hot 97, SZA detailed the artistic intention behind the album’s Princess Diana-inspired cover art. As SZA explained, she wanted to convey a sense of isolation with the art, although she and her team initially had a different plan in mind.
“Originally I was supposed to be on top of, like, a shipping barge,” SZA said at the time. “But in the references that I pulled for that, I pulled the Diana reference because I just loved how isolated she felt and that was what I wanted to convey the most. And then at the last minute, we, like, didn’t get clearance to get the shipping barges that we wanted and we were like, ‘We’re gonna build the diving board instead. We’re still gonna try it.’”
Ahead of the SOS release, SZA performed on a recent episode of Saturday Night Live. Revisit clips of the performances here.
