Atlanta Rapper Archie Eversole Fatally Shot at 37, Brother Charged With Murder

Atlanta rapper Archie Eversole, perhaps best known for “We Ready” with Bubba Sparxxx, was fatally shot at age 37. His brother is being charged with murder.

Atlanta rapper Archie Eversole, best known for his track “We Ready” with Bubba Sparxxx, has reportedly died age 37.

According to TMZ, Eversole’s family confirmed he passed away on Sunday, April 3. While his family initially did not confirm a cause of death, WSB-TV2 reports that Eversole was allegedly shot by his brother Alexander Kraus. Authorities said Kraus shot the artist on March 25; he died from his injuries on April 3.

Officers found Eversole suffering from a gunshot wound at a Chevron gas station. His brother was arrested after the shooting on a charge of aggravated assault, which was upgraded to a murder charge after Archie died at the hospital.

Archie’s most famous song was 2002’s “We Ready,” from his debut album Ride Wit Me Dirty South Style. He released the record when he was just 17 years old, and it went on to become a beloved staple, particularly at football and some soccer games across the country. The NFL released a commercial featuring the track in 2019. NFL free agent Robert Griffin III described “We Ready” as “the greatest Game Day anthem ever” in a tweet upon hearing of Eversole’s death.

Archie Eversole also worked with the Atlanta United in 2018 to write the soccer team’s anthem “United We Conquer.”

Eversole unfortunately never released another studio album after the success of his 2002 debut, which was released by Geffen Records. He did, however, drop a number of singles over the years, with his latest song “King” arriving on streaming services in November 2020.
