Fresh off her MCU debut in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Megan Thee Stallion has gotten back to the music and called upon Lil’ Kim for the remix to “Plan B.”
The hip-hop icon name-checks DMX and Lori Harvey, rapping, “I don’t got a ex, boy you never existed/The only X I miss is Earl Simmons/Now my heart cold, no feelings/Might fuck your dad like Lori Harvey, ’cause he got a bigger bag.”
Kim teased the Meg collaboration on Instagram last month with a cropped photo of two people with their arms intertwined while sipping champagne. On Wednesday, we got the entire image.
The collaboration comes after Ja Rule’s Breakfast Clubinterview in which he credited Lil’ Kim for inspiring this generation’s women rappers. “When you look at the Cardis and the Nickis and the Megans—every female,” Ja said. “And then go listen to the Hard Core album. I understand why she’s so revered like that. That album is crazy. And she’s spitting on that album. She’s going on that album! So I get it when these females are like, ‘Yo, Kim was it for me.’ I get it now.”
Since then, Cardi B told Nessa in her Hot 97 appearance that she wants a Kim feature on her long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy. “I just want the song I do with her, I want it to be like a super, like, great comeback,” Cardi said. “I just don’t want to put her on my album on a song and it’s like, ‘Cool, yeah, she had a Lil’ Kim feature.’ I want this to be like her insane…her moment.”
“Plan B” appeared on Megan’s second studio album Traumazine, which was released last month. It’s her sixth consecutive project to reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200.
