Logic has teamed up with DJ Premier for his smooth new single “Vinyl Days,” the title track from follow-up project to his 2020 album No Pressure.

Featuring that distinctive production style from Premier, the track sees Logic going for a crackling, boom-bap inspired approach. It’s a similar style to what he tried out on his recent double single, “Tetris” and “Decades,” the former of which dropped alongside a music video.

Earlier this week, Logic announced his intention to drop a new single every week until the arrival of Vinyl Days. He also indicated that the record is set to arrive on June 17 via Def Jam. Vinyl Days will be his second full-length project following his “retirement” from hip-hop in 2020. He released the third entry in his Bobby Tarantino mixtape series last year.

Recently, Logic fired off about his issues with his record label. “Def Jam, why you fucking up my releases, man?” he said in a video posted to Instagram. “First of all, I love you Tunji. Tunji’s my guy, he ain’t got nothing to do with this. What the fuck is going on, man? I told Def Jam that I wanted to release my shit as a two-pack and I just found out that they’re releasing it as two singles at the same time. What kind of shit is that?”

He went on to accuse the label of urging him not to release music videos early, because it would “upset our partners who feel like YouTube’s getting an exclusive.”

Before the arrival of Vinyl Days, Logic will set out on tour alongside 24kGoldn and DJ Drama among others.
