Lil Durk has questions after his “body count” comments about India Royale led to a bit of backlash.

During a Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast interview earlier this month, Durk claimed Royale’s “body count” was crucial for him when it came to proposing. He said he’s “petty as hell” and “ain’t gonna wife” someone who has what he views as too many past partners. “But that’s me,” he said. “But it’s, like, everything about her. Being real, not cheating, she ain’t been passed around. It was, like, her body count. That’s what really did it.”

Royale addressed the comments after some people found them offensive, tweeting that she doesn’t care “what people think about my fiancé.”

On Monday, DJ Akademiks posted about the situation on Instagram, sharing a tweet from a user who claimed “this generation is different” because women were upset about Durk’s comments.

“Mannnnnn whattttttt lol,” Durk wrote in the comments section of Ak’s post.

Durk is currently on the projected road to his first No. 1 solo album on the Billboard 200, as 7220 is expected to land between 120,000 to 130,000 album equivalent units within its first week. This would mark his second No. 1 overall, following 2021’s The Voice of the Heroes with Lil Baby. Durk has claimed his label Alamo Records, which was acquired by Sony Music last summer, gave him $40 million
