Joey Badass has dropped off his newest song “Head High,” which he debuted via a performance on A Colors Show.

The Brooklyn rapper wrote the song shortly after Nipsey Hussle died, and he references the late rapper in the first verse, as well as Capital Steez, who passed away in 2012. In the song’s second verse, he raps about his relationship with XXXTentacion.

“This is one of the best, purest, realest tracks I’ve ever made and I’m fulfilled to finally share it with the world,” he said in a statement. “This one is for Nip, X, Pop and every young black man who’s life was taken away way too soon. This is for everyone who has to navigate life daily with their head on a swivel.”

“Head High” arrives in advance of Joey’s upcoming project. Watch his performance of the song below.
