Ellie Goulding returns with a new single and video for “Easy Lover” and it features Big Sean.
Sean Don congratulated the singer on Instagram, writing, “I sampled @elliegoulding over a decade ago on my first album on High w/ Wiz, so that jus goes to show how long she been killin it! Love for havin me on ya new one “Easy Lover” n big congrats!”
The music video, directed by Sophia Ray, was shot in a school in Bulgaria. Goulding plays several characters, including a teacher and an androgynous rocker, to take on an otherworldly creature. Big Sean makes a cameo during when Goulding plays a teacher who is taking class photos.
“I was really nervous that the video would just end up being a representation of the song. But I wanted it to be something else. I wanted it to be a bit trippy, like we’re living in some kind of parallel universe, or we’re all in some kind of simulation, like a video game,” she tells Rolling Stone UK.
As for Sean, he’s currently expecting a baby with his partner Jhené Aiko. On the music front, “Easy Lover” is another guest feature after appearing on Queen Naija’s “Hate Our Love.” His last album, Detroit 2, was released in 2020 while the EP What You Expectwith Hit-Boy came in 2021.
